Reed and I have just returned from an orgy of grandparental and great-grandparental indulgence in Florida, land of denuded trees and bright blue FEMA tarps. Everyone's houses are mostly back together again, but there's construction going on everywhere.
Much turkey was eaten and Betsy is not clear now on why clothes are necessary any longer. She spent most of the time wandering around in a diaper and trying to talk us into kicking our feet with her in the freezing, highly objectionable pool. She may look like she has the delicate skin of a baby but near as I can tell she has the cold-sensitivity of a polar bear.
I am frustrated. I am tired. No matter how much I want to see family, I hate being a house guest. I have no manners and I feel their lack most acutely when treated with great courtesy. It's all tiresome. I am a creature of overmuch habit and it's good to be home.
Anyhow, the next few days Betsy is at school and I am here having an orgy of personal projects starting with getting hoofnagle.org safely backing up to my home machine every night using rsync, moving from there to getting the site retemplated in some homebrew templates I made from scratch. If I finish both of those, I may work on Boo's quilt which has seen no love for at least a month.
You wouldn't be getting this post until at least the rsync work was done, but I'm ugrading my cygwin as I write this.
