Nobody likes it, but when you have to be someplace on a schedule, it IS possible to be sure your kid is fed, dry and burped and listen to her scream her head off for 20 minutes while you do things that are necessary to get you out the door to the doctor or wherever else you HAVE to be. I feel like a bad mommy. The meanest, most insensitive mommy ever, but I can listen to my little angel squall like she's dying. The car is one of the world's great goods -- not because it gets us from place to place but because it puts small children to sleep. How did we survive before the combustion engine? If the hybrid or the hydrogen cell doesn't put my children to sleep, I will be an evil polluter at least until they've left for college. *sigh*
