The old house
So, we're getting ready to sell the house in Alexandria. It's taken us a month or two to get someone to put in replacement windows, put on a new front door and paint the place. Holly and Dhia moved out this past week. Sometime in the next few days, a realtor lockbox will go on the door.

Anyhow, I hadn't seen the place in months and looking at it empty and painted white just about killed me. We lived there for 5 years and really sweated to make it a good place to live. We bought our first *real* furniture there. We got married out of that house. Buying it was actually more of getting married than the actual ceremony I suppose. Seeing it fresh and clean and blank except for the garden that was going to seed for the winter made me remember how much I loved it. I could almost (but not quite) happily move back there and sell this place instead. I know we've outgrown that place in terms of space... it's just...whoever buys it better love it. Or I'm going to be really pissed at them. And they better garden, too. As it is, I think I'm going over to steal some plants out of hte back yard. *grump* *grump*

Ok, ok. No more whining. Just this: don't go back to places you used to live until they don't matter anymore. Especially if you were really happy in them.
