I should put something here.
I just had my 6 week post partum You're Really Ok Now appointment. They think my bloodpressure is finally back into the healthy range. Woo Hoo. Funny, I never noticed it when I was sick. I suppose I should be happy I'm well, but high bloodpressure is right up there with God and the Easter Bunny. I've never seen it, so I don't put much credence in its existence. Of course, I felt that way about Betsy too, and damn if that growing waistline didn't turn into a kid afterall.

It's bizarre how the days seem to melt away. I have been thanking god for the very good cable we are now (because RCN is in such crappy financial shape) now paying for until we no longer have anyone at home with a baby full time. Either really good movies or really good reruns of old tv shows are on tap 24/7. Note, my earlier mistake about Maury Povitch was made because I couldn't reach the remote. And you never ever disrupt a breastfeeding baby when she's taken 20 minutes to wake up and decide she might like a snack now.

At any rate, I've seen more random movies than I'd ever have believed escaped my notice in the last decade. The Killing Yard, a fine Alan Alda movie from the mid 80s. Uh.. didn't know the guy had a career after MASH. But hey, he can act. A kick ass foreign thing called Character. Old war movies by the dozens. Brubaker, a Robert Redford flick. Saving Grace, a hysterical British thing about the most unlikely people growning and selling pot. Billy Elliot, another Brit thing, this time about a kid whose dad's a miner on strike for literally months and months who discovers he's got a tallent for ballet. Then there's Tap, a Gregory Hines flick in which every great old hoofer at the end of his or her life shows he or she can still dance.

I've not mentioned Proof, Rustlers Rhapsody, The Sting, or any of the other great movies I've seen before that I've watched snippets of when I had to feed Betsy and it was either that or Guiding Light.

Sorry for the rant about movies. I'm starting to be a bit restless. Fortunatley, Betsy is also getting closer to being ok to take out in public for more than short lunches with Reed.
