Farming volleyballs So I've looked out the back window a half a dozen times over the past 2 days and thought "Kids have been losing balls into our yard", a thought which akes good sense when you're in a neighborhood like our old one with 7 year olds playing basketball less than 3 feet from your back fence, but makes a lot less when you're talking about the very back of a quarter acre lot in a section where the neighbors have lots of shrubs directly behind you.
This morning, I finally went out and looked, and I'm here to tell you, I'm farming volleyballs, like 5 or 6 of them. These things don't look like mushrooms except for their white color. They are completely round and sit flush with the ground. When you go to roll one over is when you find they are indeed attached to the ground, a little spongey, but overall very solid feeling. And the largest is about the size of a volleyball. We've had some fungus I thought was really disgusting and some that was just ordinary. This is the first we've had that was actually pretty amusing.
Anyhow, this was a weekend full of bridal showers and bachelor parties, but otherwise very mercifully quiet. NO recap since I can't exactly go publshing Jan's lingerie haul from the shower without spoiling the surprise for James.
