- I love James because his cup is always half full, and busy filling.
- I love James because when I'm out of touch with the things I think are important I can look at whatever he's posted lately and be reminded that an active, healthy mind looks for things it can love and be interested in and that this is, in fact, a self perpetuating habit.
- I love James because everyone I've ever met who has met him comes away from the acquaintance with a sense of having had a brush with joy.
- I love James because I have seen him transform at least one largely unhappy person into a happy one just by existing.
- I love James because he reminds me that happiness is strength and optimism need not be blind.
- I love James because this will embarass him hopelessly and he will turn completely scarlet. I hope Eva gets to see.
