I saw
Henry Fool last night and although it might not amuse you, it was the best unexpected movie I've seen in a really long time. Bitter and upsetting. Funny and vicious. I don't think I can give you an analysis of why it mattered so much to me without intense navel gazing, but the movie certainly says or at least implies everything I can think of to say about talent, lackthereof, publishing, art and artists.
The moment I grasped how mad an act it is to identify oneself primarily as an artist is the moment I became an "adult" which may be a tragedy. I can scarcely tell. Anyhow, I'll be interested to hear if any of you liked it if you've seen it.
