So, this weekend we helped throw a baby shower for Scott and his fabulous preggers wife, Bradee who will be bringing The Chart into the world here in a couple of months. And naturally, this evening's post is not about them. It's all about ME. And the extroardinary power of my vanity.
I saw some people I hadn't seen in a long time and met a few others for the first time. And in and around the flow of lovely conversation two things came up:
1. People I don't get to see very often really do read this silly blog.
2. People I don't know actually recommend bits of my blog to each other - as in "hey, her blog's accessible from Scott's site and she's got an interesting birth story in there."
Um. Shameful to say, the birth story, the travel logs and virtually everything prior to October 2003 when Reed got laid of has been rusticating in my half dead linux box, beans, for 8 months. Since Reed brought the poor thing home it's been completely neglected.
That is until tonight. Tonight driven by the power of vanity, I rescued 3 and a half years of my life. And a near thing it was, too, because one of the scsi drives on beans had failed and it if had been the one the journals are sitting on, all the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't a done squat about it.
So, where IS IT? You say. If you care at all. Ah. Not quite done yet. And I'm tired and going to bed.
Then what the F*@()! are you telling us for? You ask.
Because if I tell people it'll be back, likely I'll actually get the stuff poured into Movable Type.
The recipes, the birth story, the baby pictures - they will all be back in here sometime in the next week or so.
