This is a test of the new rss feed into live journal. If this were anything but a test, I doubt I'd be posting right now. I'd be working. Which seems to be all I do in life these days. Hang a feeding tube over my desk and off I go. I have, however, come to some righteous understanding of the fact that I seem to choose to have a psycho world. Consciously or unconsciously this is the way I shape my life.
The fact that I never *thought* I signed up to be a mental case does beg the question -- what does an old programmer need in order to be able to change? Good management? Certainly. The maturity and intestinal fortitude (I like that phrase even if it is a bit moldy with overuse) to say no to unreasonable requests? You bet. The vision to see a world where unreasonable situations are dealt with in a mature way? Ah... there's the rub.
I consider myself a realist. And the improvement of ones circumstances requires a person to be a bit of a radical and a visionary. The better thing has to be both strongly visualized and aggressively pursued. This is hard to do when you're so busy you scarcely eat or sleep.
Said lack of free time is currently projected to last for about a week. More about the tyranny of evil men later.
